RALEIGH HOUSE, BRIXTON HILL

RALEIGH HOUSE, BRIXTON HILL

Raleigh House was a large Elizabethan/Georgian mansion, situated well back from Brixton Hill. It belonged to the Raleigh family and traditionally was claimed to have once been the residence of Sir Walter Raleigh, although this has not been authenticated. This view shows the property just prior to demolition and commencing the development off Fairmont Road.Copyright
