Lambeth fatalities during World War I: Acting Q.S. F Woodhouse, 2nd Lieut Edwin R Clarke, Private H.L. Machell and Corpl R.M. Ashton D.S.M.
Woodhouse of the Berkshire Regiment was killed on 2nd October 1916. He was Assistant Master at St John's Schools in Canterbury Road, Brixton. Machell of 1 Stockwell Park Crescent had joined the 24th London Regiment and was killed in France. From Brixton Free Press, dated 27th October 1916.
