ROYAL FESTIVAL HALL, SOUTH BANK

West facade of the Royal Festival Hall on the South Bank. The Hall was originally built as part of the Festival of Britain in 1951 at a cost of £2 million, to a design by the L.C.C. architect, Robert Matthew. Extensive improvements and additions were undertaken to the Hall in 1962-65 by Hubert Bennett, and again in 2006-07.
