SILWOOD, ST MARTIN’S SCHOOL, TULSE HILL

St Martin's School in Silwood, 155 Tulse Hill. The house was originally built in 1856 by Edward Grove and called Berry House. It was subsequently lived in by Josiah Christmas the provisions merchant. The house and grounds were bought in 1912 by the Govenors of St Martin's School, although the school was not opened until 1928.Photograph by Miss Jesson, dated 1957.
