South Connections Mas Costume Band parading at the Notting Hill Carnival on Children's Day, 30th August 2009. South Connections is based at the Oval House Theatre in Kennington and formed in 1985, when they were known as Ovalionz. Their first carnival in 1986 had 'Cats' as the theme with costumes designed by Niki Lyons. The 2009 designs were titled 'All Aboard' by Shaun Carrington, a fashion and costume designer who has worked with South Connections since 2005.
