A number of Spitfires were purchased by public donations during the war. This fighter plane was purchased by donation from the people of the 'Clapham, Balham and Tooting' division of Wandsworth. There was also a Spitfire purchased by donation from the 'Streatham and Central' division of the borough.Copy prints. Copyright, Wandsworth Local History Library.
