The interior of St John the Divine, Vassall Road, Brixton North. The church was built in 1870-4 to the designs of George Edmund Street (1824-81) and was considered one of his finest works. Bombing during World War II destroying the lavish interior and stained glass. However, the church was restored by H.S. Goodhart Rendel and reconsecrated on 27th September 1958.Postcard published by S.M. Starr, 122 Vassall Road.
