ST MARTIN’S SCHOOL, SILWOOD HOUSE, TULSE HILL

Construction of St Martin's School at Silwood House in Tulse Hill. The house was originally built in 1856 by Edward Grove and called Berry House. It was subsequently lived in until 1907 by Josiah Christmas, a partner in Lovell & Christmas, Provision Merchants. The house and grounds were bought in 1912 by the Govenors of St Martin's School, although the school was not opened until 1928.
