Front elevation of St Matthew's church from Brixton Hill. The Parish Church of Brixton is one of the six so-called 'Waterloo Churches, built in 1824. The graveyard on the left became a public garden in the 1950s. The building has been partly converted into a community meeting and entertainment place.  Ref; SP702
