STREATHAM COMMON

STREATHAM COMMON

A view of the carriage way to Norwood Grove House. Streatham Common lies to the left with the outhouses of the Rookery seen on the right. The Rookery, a large house with extensive gardens, was acquired by the LCC in 1912. The house, which was inset from the carriageway, was demolished, however, the Rookery Gardens were added to the common and still exist as as one of its most popular features.
