Children relaxing at the seaside on a Sunday outing organised by the staff and members of the Lambeth Mission, generally to Oxshott or Ashstead. The Methodist Mission had its head offices at Lambeth Road, Lambeth. The young black boy is Ronald Desmond Lacastra who was born in 1925 to a Ghanian father and an English mother. He was fostered by greengrocer Sidney Shilton Snr and his wife Emma, of No.5 China Walk, Lambeth.
