SUSSEX SCHOOL BRIXTON WWI FATALITIES: COPPIN, WALLIS & BAIRD

Roll of Honour: World War I deaths of old boys from Sussex Road School, Brixton. Private Walter R. Coppin of the East Kent Regiment was killed in the trenches on 28th May 1915. Seaman Lawrence Wallis was drowned when HMS Russell struck two mines off Malta and sank on 27th April 1916 with the loss of 125 men. Private Charles Baird of 3rd Battalion of Rifle Brigade was killed when a shell exploded in his trench on 27th April 1915. From Brixton Free Press, dated 19th May 1916.
