‘THE LAST TRAIN FROM STREATHAM’: POSTCARD

Comic illustration entitled 'Last Train from Streatham'. The over loaded train caricatured here reflects the status of Streatham in the early 20th century as a thriving shopping centre, with theatres, dance halls and cinemas that drew large crowds from near and far. The area was well accessed by public transport having three train stations as well as being on bus and tram routes.
