'The Tyger' illustration and poem by William Blake from his 'Songs of Experience' published in 1794. Blake (1751 -1827) was a poet and artist of renown, who lived in Hercules Buildings with his wife Catherine from 1790 - 1800. Here he wrote some of his most well-known poems including 'Songs of Experience', and 'America'. The house was demolished c.1917-18.
