Anne Catley, the beautiful singer who made her debut at Vauxhall Gardens in 1762 at the age of seventeen. Her success here established her career with engagements at Covent Garden and Marylebone Gardens. The pleasure gardens are now marked by Tyers Street and Spring Gardens, renamed Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens in 2012.Pen and Ink portrait, c.1762.
