VAUXHALL PARK BOWLING GREEN, VAUXHALL

VAUXHALL PARK BOWLING GREEN, VAUXHALL

Two men playing bowls on the green at Vauxhall Park with the sports pavilion behind. The park was originally one of the premier parks of the Borough, with floral displays, a bandstand and open-air theatre. The gabled buildings behind the pavilion are the Whichler's and Kifford's Almshouses, built c.1855 although originally founded in Westminster by separate charities in the late 17th century.
