An article dated 20th December 1946, announcing in the Brixton Free Press the posthumous George Cross award for Violette Szabo. She was a member of the S.O.E 'F' Section during World War II, but was captured, then tortured and put to death at Ravensbruck Concentration Camp. Szabo was the daughter of Mr & Mrs C.G. Bushell of Burnley Road, Stockwell, who are quoted in this article, 'First she went into the Land Army, but that was too dull'.
