The west side of Streatham hill looking north towards the Gaumont Palace cinema. From the late 1920s onwards, Victorian blocks were demolished and replaced, transforming the area into South London's 'West End'. Venues included the Locarno Dance Hall, the Gaumont and Streatham Hill Theatre. A photographic postcard postmarked 5th August 1937. ID; IV336/14/23
