Form of Application for National Service from Ernest Charles Coad of 49 South Island Place, Clapham Road, aged 49 years. He listed his preferred service role as ARP Warden, stating his present occupation as confectioner & tobacconist, although listed his usual occupation as blacksmith. Past service, presumably World War I, was in the Army Ordnance Corps. His Air Raid Precaution Scheme application is dated 5th Jan 1939.
