The modest terraced houses in Lochaber Road were built in the 1890s on what had been part of the garden of The Firs.

23 Ennersdale Road, a typical terraced house of the late 1870s, but raised out of the ordinary because it was the birthplace of the actress, film star and First World War soldiers' pin-up, Gladys Cooper.

This house was built about 1870 and from then until 1928 was occupied by doctors, who presumably had their consulting rooms on the premises. It was taken over by the Kent County Permanent Building Society about 1933. The house was demolished in the 1970s.
